WW9—Heatin’ things up!

Yes, today is Wednesday—and it is time for another “Wacky Wednesday!”
The host for today’s WW-Challenge is the ultra-sweet Bev Gerard.  The very woman who hosted most of the Rubbernecker Design Team, Mr. and Mrs. Rubbernecker, and various stampers who dropped in for an extended weekend in March.  So this week—we have the “hostess with the mostest!!”
She has asked us to heat things up with our projects this week!!  So get out your irons, heat guns, melting pot—and use them in your favorite heated technique!
I chose to heat up some clear embossing powder with my heat gun.

The silhouetted woman, the shoes and the purses were heat embossed.
***TIP/TRICK***If you want to clear emboss DYE ink—FIRST stamp your stamp on to a watermark or embossing pad THEN onto your dye ink pad.
By clear embossing my images—I was able to sponge my oval (a mask made with a Spellbinders die) and not have it mix with my die ink NOR have it overlap the images.

Paper: Prism Cardstock; dp from Paper Loft;
Ink: Memento Pear Tart; Tim Holtz Distress Ink Black Soot; tempting turquoise-SU!;
Accessories: May Arts Ribbon; clear embossing powder; Nestabilities oval die; Prima Flower; glitter dots; corner rounder and ticket corner punches;

Rubbernecker Blog Stroll—Kittie Kit New Releases!!!

After meeting Kittie and hearing about how her stamping style AND these sets came about I am so excited about them. They were created with heart! They are not difficult to use—in fact; I have found them fun and therapeutic. You don’t have to be Kittie or a Kittie-wanna-be to use these. I am sure you will see them used in a variety of styles and ways during today’s blog stroll.
I used the #8—The barn & farm set yesterday here. Today I have used the #7—Chickens.

This was inspired by the sketch yesterday at SplitCoastStampers—but since I didn’t bother to print it out—the sketch changed in my mind between computer and studio.
Other than the new Kittie Kit and the Kittie Kit Outdoor Master (grass) I used:

Paper: watercolor paper; Prism-Island Mist Light & Medium and Tawny Dark;
Ink: StazOn for images; Tim Holtz Distress Ink for watercoloring;
Accessories: brads; ribbon; sponges; foam tape

Wacky Wednesday and a Sneak Peak

It is Wacky Wednesday!!

Our host this week is the wonderful Candy Williams.  She has challenged us (us meaning you, too!!) to use chipboard and/or buttons on our creations this week.  You can see all of the details at the Rubbernecker BLOG.

ALSO….Today I have a sneak peak of TOMORROW’s NEW STAMP REALEASE!!! 

As you can see I used both, buttons and chipboard (grungeboard).

The frame is grungeboard covered with Distress Crackle paint. 

The key, hinges, and keyhole are painted with acrylic paint and the dusted with Perfect Pearls-bonze when they were half dry.

Strawberries, Flowers, and Ribbon!

Oh my!

Today’s cards were inspired by Sharon’s Stamp Simply Challenge #83—”Thread it Through!”  In other words—use threaded ribbon on the project.

I don’t have a ribbon threading punch, but I do have a handheld small rectangle punch.  So, with ruler in hand, I made a template.  And since I went to all the trouble of making the template, I also made two cards.

They are fairly simple cards with similar layouts—keeping with the Stamp Simply theme.

The first one is made with my brand spankin’ new Rubber Stamp Tapestry stamps.  I won them in a blog candy contest on the company’s blog.

I also used Versa Color inks in Cardinal, Burgundy, Evergreen, Green Tea, and Charcoal;  FUN STUFF!

This card used stamps from Starving Artistamps.

Stamps: flowers from the DoodleFactory Easter set and Small Dots background;

Ink: VersaMark; Shell Pink Adirondack; Tim Holtz Distress Ink for watercoloring;

Paper: Bazzill-Quartz; watercolor paper;

Accessories: Handheld sm rectangle punch; ribbon; button, silk flower; white embossing powder;

  Both cards make me think spring!  (Even though strawberry season is at least 6 weeks away).

Birthday with Bluebelle

Today’s inspiration came from today’s sketch challenge at SplitCoastStampers, SC224.

My brain took a small detour from computer to basement and separated the strips behind the main image--sorry about that.

The main image is by DoodleFactory. She is called Bluebelle and she is a part of the DoodleFactory Easter collection; available from Starving Artistamps.
She is embossed with white ep on Watercolor paper and watercolored with Tim Holtz Distress Inks.

The  colored and patterned papers are from SEI's Poppy collection.
