MONSTER INVASION!!!!!

There is a Frankenstein's Monster INVASION!!!  Well, not really.  My youngest needed treat bags for her Pre-K class--Crafter Mama to the RESCUE!!

I got a ton of inspiration from many different places on the web. But basically they are punch art. 

• Pupil- 1/4" punch-black
• Eyeball-1-1/4" punch white
• Eyelid and Nose-1-3/8" circle- olive-cut in half
• Bolts- File tab punch cut in half-gray
• Face-Corner rounder punch

(BTW- Sorry about the LOUSY pics--my camera card is dying--only every other pic turns out AND they have static on one side--alternates every other picture)

Now, I get to deliver them to two other mom's that will fill them.  They are thrilled that I did the bag--and I am thrilled that THEY are filling them!!

Now I want to look for ideas for her teacher and assistant teacher.  Perhaps they will get mummies.

The same thing...only different

Yesterday I posted this.

Now today, it is the same thing.......only different.

I was TOTALLY inspired by Leigh O'Brien's Freaky Friday Challenge #2.  The challenge is to use NON-Halloween stamps for a Halloween card.

Same stamp, same layout; New colors and theme.

Materials:
Stamps: Birch Forest by KK Originals from Rubbernecker;
Paper: watercolor paper, pumpkin, dark gray, black, and olive cardstock; BasicGrey Ambrosia;
Ink: StazOn Jet Black; Black Soot Tim Holtz Distress Ink; Various Distress inks for watercoloring;
Accessories: Circle dies, and Julius alpha (Spellbinders); foam tape; ribbon; 1/4" hand punch;

I think it is really fun how with changing colors the same stamp and layout can become so different!!

One thing I would like to point out, is that Maurice, the snow guy is not crooked---I was just not careful in setting up the card--and that *step* of the card is crooked. Perhaps tomorrow I can get a better picture--until then, Maurice will have just a bit more personality.

Watercolor Inspiration

Today's inspiration challenge is from Mizue Hirano, a Japanese watercolor artist.  I found her work to be both interesting and soothing.  Here are some pieces that I found to be inspiring:

 

I love the colors and the way they all flow together. 

Here is the result of my playing:

I took the inspiration pieces a bit literally.  I also ran with the Japanese theme.  Hence the Japanese stab binding and the sentiment (From Rubbernecker).  I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks for watercolors.  I used: Mustard Seed, Worn Lipstick, Fired Brick, Aged Mahogany, Dried Marigold and Spiced Marmalade.  I thought it could use a bit of glimmer so I added a bit of Perfect Gold Perfect Pearls to my paint tray and highlighted some of the areas.

It is out of my usual pattern--for certain---but I had fun.

I have decided to send the sleeping baby now--and the Blessings for the baptism.  That idea was inspired by Broni.   Thanks all for tolerating my indecision AND my flirt with blog toys!
