A Day for Daisies Blog Hop

Good morning! AND Happy Friday!

If you are not already a fan of A Day for Daisies digital stamps, you soon will be!

Today, Friday, February 24th is the first day of our ADFD Blog Hop - a celebration of all of the beautiful images Tammy has created over the years. As a special surprise for Tammy, we have a combination of current and former DT members participating in the hop. Her inspiring art and generous heart have touched us all.

We want to take a moment to show our gratitude and thank Tammy for the blessings and joys we have received as members of the A Day for Daisies Design Team (ADFD-DT).

Our theme is “A Collection of ADFD Favorites” - so each design team member’s blog you visit will share something she has created with one of her favorite ADFD images.

The hop has hidden prizes - a commenter from each hidden prize stop will win a choice of one image from the A Day for Daisies Shop! You won’t know where the prizes are hidden, so be sure to leave a comment at each stop of the Hop! Our Blog Hop will run from 7:00 a.m. EST on Saturday, February 25, 2017 until 9:00 p.m. eastern standard time on Tuesday, February 27, 2017.

In addition to the Blog Hop, we invite you to share your Favorite A Day for Daisies image in the final A Day for Daisies Blog Challenge. The linky will stay open until Friday, March 3rd. All prize-winners will be announced on the ADFD Blog on Saturday, March 4, 2017. We hope you will join our celebration of the thousands of images Tammy has created. Rules for the challenge are posted on the right sidebar of the ADFD Blog - the last spot of the stop! Are you ready to HOP?!?

You are here

Whew, are you still with me???
Thanks!

Here is my card:
This card uses the image, Chubby Flower Fairy Magic!

Though this is a birthday card, I am NOTORIOUS at being bad about sending out cards!!  Especially birthday cards!

SO, if you would to tell me what cards YOU like to send that would be great!  But leave a comment of some type so you will have the opportunity to win a prize!

I really appreciate you stopping by!!!  A Day for Daisies has the most beautiful images to work with, and I know you will appreciate every stop on this hop!

So head on over to Kathy's blog for more A Day for Daisies eye candy!

Happy Fairy Birthday

Happy Friday!
I have a card and a challenge for you today!

The card uses the A Day for Daisies image, Fancy Hair Fairy:

She is colored with Copic markers and her wings are highlighted with Stickles.

The background was a plastic template that I sprayed with a homemade color spray and then blotted on a second sheet of paper.

It is time for a new challenge!  The challenge is to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) a design team card!

So take a gander at the blogs of my teammates:

So head on over to the A Day for Daisies Blog and join us for the challenge!!!

You are one in a...

You are one in a Chameleon!

Today is the start of a new twice-a-month challenge over at the Hambo Hoedown!

We are going Clean and Simple (CAS)!

Since it is Mr. Hambo's birthday, mine is a birthday card:

One thing I really love about this Reptile image is his blank shirt!

I replicated a Hawaiian shirt with Copic markers.

The colorful mat is white cardstock and I used the same colors from coloring the image to go around the edge.  This is a great trick if you don't have patterned paper to go with your image.

The mustache buttons are a fun find from JoAnn's!

Be sure to check out the other Bacon Bits' CAS creations at the Hambo Hoedown Challenge #137.

Thanks for stopping and taking a peek!

Once Upon A Birthday

Every card maker I know has a type of card that creates "crafter's block"... where the creative juices just refuse to flow.  For me, it is birthday cards... and especially for people I know.  It is so bad that I have given up on most family members opting for a store bought cards.  (now don't you gasp--there are some very nice cards sold today)

So my dear older brother has a birthday next week and this year I was determined to make him a card this year--conquering two tough cardmaking topics for me: Birthdays and Guys.

My brother is a great guy and deserving of the royal treatment:

 Details:
  • Stamps: Antidepresstamps~Royality from Starving Artistamps;
  • Ink: Memento tuxedo black; Tim Holtz antique linen;
  • Paper: Graphic 45 and Die Cuts With a View patterned paper; white and black cardstock;
  • Accessories: Copic Markers; foam tape; Stickles and Liquid Pearls (gold); Spellbinders and Sizzix dies;

Here is a tip:
  • Whether you are using markers, watercolor, chalks, or pencils, I find that that when coloring faces a little white dot on each cheek bone to put a little life and whimsy to the character you are coloring.
Here is a question for you:
What is your tough cardmaking audience/occasion??  Sympathy, birthday, mother's day (another toughie for me)??

I look forward to your comments!

The Forgetful Elephant

 Today, I was inspired by this weeks sketch at Card Positioning Systems (CPS).

Here is the sketch #226:
And here is my card:

Details:
  •  Stamps: Elephant (SKU:569-09); and Sorry (SKU:568-03) both from Rubbernecker Stamp Company;
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black;
  • Paper: K and Company and HOTP patterned paper;  DCWV embossed card;
  • Accessories: Copic markers, google eyes, foam tape, Coluzzle templates, CuttleBug embossing folder, Spellbinders die; embroidery floss;
 Unfortunately, I am one of those people that ONLY needs to make belated birthday cards...no matter how hard I try...they are late.  Hopefully the sweet look on this elephant will encourage forgiveness and understanding.

 Thank you so much for stopping by, and thanks to the CPS team for this wonderful challenge!

Paper Piecing & Pennants

Has there ever been a technique that you are slow to try out?  For me it is pennants!  I think they are so darn cute on other folk’s creations, but I had never incorporated them into my own…till today!

blessed birthday

Materials and details:

  • Surprise Juniper and sentiment from Starving Artistamps;
  • StazOn Jet black;
  • Designer papers from: Cosmo Cricket, Chatterbox, DCWV, and My Mind’s Eye;
  • Punches from Martha Stewart, EK Success, and $ spot at Michael’s;
  • Foam tape and Liquid Pearls (lemon yellow); and colored pencils;

Juniper’s dress and headband are paper pieced from a yellow patterned paper with white pin dots.  The pennants were cut by hand, inked and sanded from the same paper.

I love her party shoes!  Did you have little mary janes when you were younger??  I only had black ones—but my daughters have have many colors through the years—FUN!

Thanks for stopping by, today!

Birthdays and Color!

I thought I would play along with the Color Throwdown (#106)today!!

swatch 106

In lieu of the Stampin’ Up colors I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks: (in order of substitution) Tumbled Glass, Walnut Stain, Frayed Burlap and Shabby Shutters.

Here is my card:

Birthday CTD

The stamps are from Rubbernecker Stamp Company, and I was introduced to them at the stamp show in Novi, MI a little over a week ago.  Charlene demonstrated these flower stamps with cute little baskets and pots (she made them look so cool that Mr. Rubbernecker nearly ran out of the stamp pads she used!!)  I thought they would work for a wreath, and I am please with the way it turned out!!(is that okay to say?)

Thanks CTD team for picking another batch of GREAT colors!

And thank YOU for stopping by my blog, today!

Color Throwdown #53--Jungle Jim

Sadly this is my last week with the Color Throwdown Challenge Team.  It has been so much fun--such talented people to hang with!  I REALLY appreciate the opportunity!

This week's colors are Rose Red, Pink Pirouette, and Bordering Blue.
Here is my take on the colors:
  • Stamps: Jungle Jim the Elephant from DRS Designs; Harlequin BG from Starving Artistamps;
  • Papers: SU!: Pink Pirouette, Rose Red, Bordering Blue; Prism: Super Smooth White; DP: Imaginisce: All kinds of Happy;
  • Ink: Rose Red Craft ink; Memento Tuxedo Black;
  • Other stuff: Stickles; Copic Markers; foam tape; Nestabilities; border punch;
The hat is cut from the fun dp from Imaginisce.  I think he looks rather festive with a party hat!!

Thanks to the design team for letting me hang with them this month!!  Please check out their AWESOME designs:
