Poppies in Winter

Have you been over to the Rubbernecker site lately??
There are some WONDERFUL new images!  LOTS of florals which help me escape the "polar vortex" outside my window.
One that really caught my eye was Poppies (727-04)!

This first card also uses the "Peanut Butter" sentiment and "Horizontal Chevrons" background:

This card uses the verse "Trust in Him":
This one also uses two backgrounds: Grid and Horizontal Chevrons.

I made my own glitter mist using a spray bottle, Tim Holtz Distress Ink reinkers: Peacock Feathers and Tumbled Glass, and Perfect pearls.  I used the spray after stamping with the grid on the paper; and I used the spray on the Horizontal Chevrons stamp prior to stamping.

The poppy image on both cards are colored with Copic markers.
Thank you so much for stopping by today!

May Your Wishes Come True

Today I got to play with on of the multi-step watercolor stamps from Rubbernecker!

This card uses: Watercolor Wish.
For me, it works best to stamp the stems, first, then the large blossom stamp, and finally the small (inner) blossom stamp.
For this card, I applied the Stickles (glitter glue) by putting a small dab on the flower centers stamp and stamping on the flowers.  It worked very well.

It is so easy to get these beautiful blossoms!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog, today!!

Give you rest.

"Come to me
all who are weary
and heavy laden
and I will give you rest. ~Matthew 11.28"

All stamps are from Rubbernecker Stamp Company.

The base background was "Antique Lace" stamped off/kissed onto "Horizontal Chevrons" then stamped onto the paper.

I also sponged Frayed Burlap ink over some punched lace (Martha Stewart Punch).
Finally I stamped the a stamp from the "Lace Border Set" and "Lace Circle" to complete the background.

The diecut circle (picot edge circle) was stamped with "Sleeping Beauty".

Tip: to ink the edges of the intricate die cut (Tim Holtz/Sizzix) I used a cotton swab.

  • Stamps: Lace Circle, Sleeping Beauty, Horizontal Chevons, Lace Border Set, I will give you rest: all from Rubbernecker Stamp Company;
  • Inks: Distress Ink: Frayed Burlap, Antique Linen, Broken China, Pumice Stone, Walnut Stain, and Black Soot;

Seaside Inspiration

 Sometimes I need a jump start when I start creating.  Color is my usual starting place.  I find the Design Seeds website quite inspiring. I pin many of my favorites to a board on Pinterest.

This particular seed, I could no longer find on the Design Seeds website, but it seemed to be the place to start with this image.  I like the cool light teal paired with the warm grays.

Details:

  • Stamps: all from Rubbernecker: Summer Girl Sunny and Fantasy Vine (You can do a search for these stamps in the rubber stamps area of the Rubbernecker website.)
  • Papers: Cardstock from Bazzil and bristol smooth paper;
  • Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black; Tim Holtz Distress Ink: Pumice Stone; black pigment pen; Copic Markers;
  • Accessories: Foam tape and ribbon;

Wacky Wednesday NEW Background Bonanza

WACKY WEDNESDAY BUTTONYES!! It is Wednesday so it is Rubbernecker Stamp Company’s WACKY WEDNESDAY!

AND YES!! NEW backgrounds—SEVEN of them!! Nice big full size backgrounds!!

I used three on this card:

ww5-CAS08--BG flower

I white embossed the Wild Flower Background and sponged with Shell Pink Pigment Ink—then I quickly watercolored it with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tattered Rose.

The cardstock is also from Rubbernecker Stamp Company as they now carry Prism cardstock. This stuff is luscious. Especially the Super Smooth White. I LOVE how this stuff takes ink---and COPICS, too.

The base is Iced Pink.

The wildflower background is the base background, plus a Abstract Floral Background and Grid Background. I eyeballed three concentric circles and roughed them up with Tim Holtz Paper Distresser.

Now, it is your turn….

Here is a peek at all of the new releases:
