A deer for every season...

The A Day for Daisies December club kit has some BEAUTIFUL images!
This week I am using Blossom Deer.

I was torn on how to use him.  Whether to use his garland as Christmas ivy (or perhaps mistletoe) or as a Spring blossom garland.  When in doubt, choose BOTH!!

The precious fawn in winter (Liquid Applique snow):

And in Spring(studded with Liquid Pearls):

Both are highlighted with Stickles and colored with Copic markers.

Spring in My Hair

Happy Friday!
It is the second week of the newest release from A Day for Daisies!

The image I have for you is "Spring Flower Hair":
I can just imagine a breezy Easter morning with hair done up like this!
I have added some liquid pearls to the heart shaped leaves in her hair!

My design inspiration came not only from the image, but also from a couple of challenges:
Mojo Monday #338 and Colour Q #234.

(Please note that my computer is the furthest point in my house from my studio... and in the walk across my home, I flipped a couple of elements in my mind.  Regardless, the inspiration came from the sketch AND the color challenge.)

As always, my fellow design team members have created some BEAUTIFUL projects to inspire you:

Poppies in Pastels

It is Friday, which means it is time for A Day for Daisies!

This is also the beginning of a new challenge on the A Day for Daisies Blog, a new release at the A Day for Daisies store, and a new club kit!

The challenge is to use pastels!

My card today features the new image, Spring Poppy Bunch:
These poppies are California poppies.  I have never seen them in real life, but the photos of entire fields of these poppies ablaze with a warm yellows and oranges have me in complete awe!  Since our challenge is to use pastels, my poppies are a little more subtle.

There are more wonders of spring from my fellow design team members:

What have I been up to?

Just making a few cards!  All of these cards use stamps from Rubbernecker Stamp Company!

spring

Details:

  • Stamps: Sentiment from Garden Phrase Set (SKU:508); Butterfly Inchies (SKU:427) and Bud Tree Set (SKU:505) all from Rubbernecker;
  • Patterned paper: Memory Box;
  • Cardstock: Bazzill;
  • Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink: Concord Grape and Vintage Photo;
  • Liquid Pearls and Stickles;
  • Foam Tape
  • Martha Stewart punch

The dots on the branch were accented with Liquid Pearls and Stickles.  The butterfly was inked first with Concord Grape then then the edges of the top of the wings were inked with Vintage Photo. (just an easy way to get a multicolored image)

wildflower

Details:

  • Stamps: Sentiment from Fall Trilogy Set (SKU:480); and Create a Garden Set 2 (SKU:513) both from Rubbernecker;
  • Patterned Paper: Cosmo Cricket (plaid) and 7 Gypsies;
  • Cardstock: Bazzill;
  • Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink: Wild Honey, Scattered Straw, Bundled Sage, Peeled Paint, Walnut Stain, and Frayed Burlap (for inking the edges);
  • Spellbinders dies
  • twill tape and brad

The “blossoms” on the wildflower were inked first with Wild Honey; then I blotted the edges on a scrap paper; then inked the entire image with Scattered Straw.  This method (a revised Rock ‘n Roll technique) made a blended image with just a touch of dimension.

blessed are those

Details:

  • Stamps: Ethel With Shopping Cart (SKU:74-01) and Laugh at themselves (SKU:504-20) both from Rubbernecker;
  • Patterned paper: K & Company;
  • Watercolor paper;
  • Cardstock: Bazzill;
  • Ink: StazOn Jet Black; Tim Holtz Distress Ink for water coloring;
  • Martha Stewart Punch;
  • staple;

I hope you enjoyed this selection of cards!

Thanks SO MUCH for Stopping by!

Hello there!

No, I haven't fallen off the face of the earth...I am just knee deep in boxes.  Our family is moving in a few days, so most of my "free" time has been trying to package our life in to appropriate size boxes.

I have done a little stamping now and then and you are going to have to wait to see some of it.

Here is a simple spring like card that was inspired by another card that I made (and was used prior to being photographed).

The stamp is from Rubbernecker Stamp Company (Weeds #497-13) and the designer paper is from Making memories.
I colored the image with markers, stamped, and then I highlighted the buds with Stickles.

Just a simple card!

Coming soon... new releases from Starving Artistamps (do I hear a blog hop???) and the 100th Color Thow Down!!!

Thanks for stopping by here, today!

A Spring DoodleFactory Garden

I picked up a boxed set of blank cards from "Die Cuts With a View" at a big box store and decided to make a party set using the cute images from the DoodleFactory: Rose and Bluebell.

The images are colored with colored pencils.

I hope you are having a great day!

By “mercies”, I mean Mercy Kerin of “Lord Have Mercy”.

Here are two cards using Mercy’s Tuesday Sketch Challenge.

Here is the Sketch:

Spring, Halloween, and somewhere in between

A couple of you have noticed that I haven’t posted in a while.  The truth is –I haven’t stamped in a while.  This back to school season took me a bit off guard.  Though we were not new to the schools (as we were last year), all of the little details had me a bit overwhelmed.  I think I have found my footing, now…so it is time to get inky!

This first card uses the brand new Halloween sets from the DoodleFactory!

Trick or Treat-cat

For this next one, you might think I am seasonally confused…Yes, I may be, BUT, these papers were laying on my desk, begging to play together—and they are just so SPRING-Y!!

welcome spring 2

  • Stamps: DoodleFactory Into the Woods from Starving Artistamps;
  • Ink: Fluid Chalk Ink-Dark Brown;
  • Paper: Dp from ki memories, HOTP, We R Memory Keepers, and 3 Bugs in a Rug; Cardstock from SU! and Bazzill;
  • Other Items: tag die (Spellbinders); alpha dies (Sizzix); foam tape, ribbon, crocheted flower;

Thanks for stopping by, and being patient while I get it all together!

Wacky Wednesday--Easter Blessings

Our host for this week's Wacky Wednesday is Kittie Caracciolo!!!  Woo Hoo!!  You can learn a little more about her HERE!!

The theme of Wacky Wednesday #2 is...Fancy Folds!!  So anything but a regular spine fold on your card.

I went with a tri-fold card.

Fancy Folds Tulips front

Paper: Pink and Green-Bazzill; White Georgia Pacific;

My First Tutorial!

Today, on the Rubbernecker Stamp Company Blog, I host the Friday Focus.  This week it is a Faux Postage tutorial.  It is a great technique, in my opinion, for Valentine cards.

You will have to go to the Rubbernecker Stamp Company Blog to my Valentine.  But here, I will show you another Faux Postage card.  This one is SPRING.   I decided I need some help remembering what color grass is!!

So I hope you can get over to the Rubbernecker Stamp Company Blog, check out the tutorial, AND follow some links to see what some other design team members have done!
Thanks for coming by here!!

Don't Worry!!

Well, here in Michigan, we have been having subzero temperatures for a few days, now.  So all I can think about is SPRING!!

I was in search of spring inspiration when I came upon  the Inspiration Challenge #163 over at SplitCoast.
The source of our inspiration was to be Pottery Barn Teen. My dd LOVES Pottery Barn Teen!!! She loved browsing with me.  (her wish list is LOOONG, poor kid, because her parents are not re-doing her room)

I drew inspiration from all of the dots (they were EVERYWHERE), these sheets and all the beadboard!!!!

IC163-Bee Happy
It is difficult to see in the photo, but the card base is an embossed striped notecard.  The DP is from Daisy Bucket.

The stamps are the Bee Happy Set, and the   Medium Bees set.
Sunny and warm colors and images--for another subzero day.
