Mojo Ketto Spring!

Is spring here??  In Michigan, well, experience tells me that we haven’t seen the last of snow..but what we have is disappearing.  It is inspiring mass cleaning/organization efforts and spring stamping around here.

Today’s card was inspired by the Get Sketchy challenge for this week (no sketch, just make a spring themed card) as well  as the Mojo Monday #128 challenge. I normally shy away from contests, but the sketch fit my inspiration, so I gave it a shot.

March is reading month according to my daughter’s Kindergarten teacher.  We are a reading family, especially my little kindergartener!  She is in LOVE with the written word—it takes FOREVER to get through the grocery store because she has to read as much as she can (signs, labels, the directory on the cart).  It is fun (unless you are in a hurry)!

My daughter, Stamp Simply Challenge #129 and the Mojo Monday #127 were the inspiration for this card!

Weekend fun

This weekend (including Monday—snow day for the kids) I got a little stamping done.  This is a small miracle since weekends = interruptions around here.  I am just getting around to posting, though.

The first card was inspired by the Get Sketchy #26 sketch for this week.  I had to adjust the sentiment to fit.

What I did this weekend…

These are all images from Stamping Bella that my friend Debi shared with me (and all the dp, too)!  So I cranked out a few cards just for fun!

ATC Sneak Peek

I have joined a Bella ATC swap hosted by "Project Junkie" (aka Amanda). ATC's are "Artist's Trading Cards" or "Altered Trading Cards". They are the same size as standard playing cards, baseball cards, (or what we have in our house) Yu-Gi-Oh! cards. Apparently, stampers started altering playing cards, but now, usually, cardstock it the base. They are 2.5" x 3.5". Not a lot of room. This is good and bad. Excellent for swaps. Bad for embellishment fanatics.

Here is mine:

Materials (all are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):

• Stamps: EmmyBella (Bella Stamps), "born to SHOP" clear stamp (Studio G), purse incentive stamp
• Paper: Flowered paper (Kangaroo and Joey), Whisper White, Basic Black, Regal Rose, Rose Red
• Ink: StazOn Jet Black, More Mustard, Blush Blossom, Regal Rose
• Accessories: Jewels (Doodlebug), silver cord, Diamond Stickles, Watercolor brush, Coluzzle

One little trick I did that was not ordinary, is since the sentiment was unmounted (and very inexpensive) I clipped the top of the sentiment, and took "<" out of the bottom so I could get the sentiment to curve. I needed a little repositional adhesive to keep it in place on the block, but it worked great!!

Just for FunBella

It has been a long time since I have just sat down and made a card--just because it is fun! I usually need a card for a certain purpose or I am doing a challenge. Neither of these things are wrong OR negative but sometimes it is important to do things--just for the joy of it!! Today was my day (or at least the latter part of the evening).

Pretty much the exact same layout in all three cards (hey, if it ain't broke, 'ya don't go'an try fixin' it). Also all three card used paper piecing. (Stamping on patterned {printed or stamped} paper and then cutting out the images and piecing them together). It was like playing with paper dolls! Stamping in different parts of the patterned paper to get different outfits!! Bella Fun!

Most of the patterned paper is from Chatterbox, but the main background paper for the two bottom cards is from American Crafts. All of the patterned paper is double sided *fun*!

So this is my fun for today! This was as refreshing as today's spring weather!!
