READ!

March is reading month according to my daughter’s Kindergarten teacher.  We are a reading family, especially my little kindergartener!  She is in LOVE with the written word—it takes FOREVER to get through the grocery store because she has to read as much as she can (signs, labels, the directory on the cart).  It is fun (unless you are in a hurry)!

My daughter, Stamp Simply Challenge #129 and the Mojo Monday #127 were the inspiration for this card!

Read

  • Stamp: Betty the Book Worm by Green Bean Baby;
  • Paper: Bazzill cardstock; Cosmo Cricket;
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black;
  • Other Items: Colored pencils; buttons; ribbon; border punch (EK Success); foam squares;

I love to read!  Happy March!

Kraft Wildflowers

I just thought I would try a Clean and Simple card using the new stamps from Rubbernecker Stamp Company.  I highlighted the leaves with Stickles and Liquid Pearls.

Squirrely Hello

I have received my “Into the Woods” DoodleFactory Stamps and had to get them inky a.s.a.p.!!!!

To get me started I have combined a couple of challenges:

  1. Sharon’s Stamp Simply #102 to step out of your comfort zone. I did this by using THREE patterned papers, and about double the embellishments and layers I normally do.
  2. Get Sketchy #3—A new sketch challenge blog :

Here is my card:

Strawberries, Flowers, and Ribbon!

Oh my!

Today’s cards were inspired by Sharon’s Stamp Simply Challenge #83—”Thread it Through!”  In other words—use threaded ribbon on the project.

I don’t have a ribbon threading punch, but I do have a handheld small rectangle punch.  So, with ruler in hand, I made a template.  And since I went to all the trouble of making the template, I also made two cards.

They are fairly simple cards with similar layouts—keeping with the Stamp Simply theme.

The first one is made with my brand spankin’ new Rubber Stamp Tapestry stamps.  I won them in a blog candy contest on the company’s blog.

SS83-RST Strawberries

I also used Versa Color inks in Cardinal, Burgundy, Evergreen, Green Tea, and Charcoal;  FUN STUFF!

ss83-Spring Flowers

This card used stamps from Starving Artistamps.

Stamps: flowers from the DoodleFactory Easter set and Small Dots background;

Ink: VersaMark; Shell Pink Adirondack; Tim Holtz Distress Ink for watercoloring;

Paper: Bazzill-Quartz; watercolor paper;

Accessories: Handheld sm rectangle punch; ribbon; button, silk flower; white embossing powder;

  Both cards make me think spring!  (Even though strawberry season is at least 6 weeks away).

Thanks for stopping by—Have a great weekend!!

Stamper Tammy

I almost titled this post as "Stamper Tammy and the new baby" but that is how rumors get started.  Actually this card is for Sharon's Stamp Simply Challenge--and the challenge for this week is to make a card inspired by Tammy's style. (Check out her blog--Stamp Happy).  Sharon suggested sewing (but my machine is still buried in moving boxes--I know where it is--I just can't get to it), and cuttle-bugged backgrounds.

ssnotime52 -New Baby

This little guy's name is peebo--isn't he the cutest!!!  Even with a full diaper! (LOL!) He is from the DoodleFactory Country set.

Here is a detail photo of Peebo (since the coloring didn't show up  well in the picture:
