Thanks so much!

One of the best parts of rubberstamping is that you are not locked into using a image as it was intended.
This card should be a group of chicks…but I was feeling bluebirds!
thanks so much birdies

Some Water Coloring

This is a water coloring technique that I haven’t used in quite a while…
faith hope love sm
I stamped the image (Rose Ornament {SKU: 551}) with VersaMark onto water color paper. I then wet each area with plain water, then painted with diluted stamp pad re-inkers.  This is an easy way to watercolor since each area is “contained”.
Also with this card…I used the main image as an accent/background stamp.  I stamped it twice on the card base and stamped and embossed it on the patterned paper accent strip across the card.
Details:
  • Stamps: Rose Ornament (SKU: 551); sentiment from the Garden Tree Set (SKU:559) both from Rubbernecker Stamp Company;
  • Ink: VersaMark and Tim Holtz Distress Ink and Pad (Broken China—for the backgound);
  • Paper: Bazzill Cardstock; Watercolor paper; DCWV patterned paper;
  • Accessories: Gold embossing powder; Spellbinders dies; foam tape;

More Animals!

This first one was just for fun…just playing around with the image.

I VERY rarely stamp an outline stamp in something other than brown or black…but if you don’t try…you never know what will happen.

fun from top to bottom

I stamped the giraffe and sentiment with a pigment ink (Stampin’ Up!’s “Craft” ink in Rose Red).  Pigment inks are very slow to dry since they sit on top of the paper rather than soaking in (as a dye ink would).  So I heat set the ink.  This allowed me to use my colored pencils (+ baby oil for blending) and let me handle the piece without fear of smudging.

Other Details:

  • Stamps: Giraffe (SKU:569-13); Top to Bottom(SKU: 568-12) both from Rubbernecker Stamp Company;
  • Ink: Stampin’ Up!’s “Craft” ink in Rose Red
  • Paper: Studio G card—deconstructed; Bazzill cardstock;
  • Accessories: circle and corner rounder punches; colored pencils; foam tape;

lemur

This is just a correction of the card from THIS post. Open-mouthed smile

All better now!
