Merry Christmas

I really like the chalkboard style!

I found it was fun and simple to do myself!
The Merry Christmas Stamp (MC Ivy Block 657-06) was inked with Versamark and stamped on black cardstock.  I used white embossing powder to heat emboss the image.

After it had cooled, I used a Spellbinders die, I die cut and embossed the label.

 Then I put a little white pigment ink on a paper towel and misted the towel with water (so it would blend and not be too thick) and rubbed some areas of the label with the towel.  Just enough for it too look like chalk dust!

Other card details:

  • Stamps: MC Ivy Block 657-06; Silent Night 654; Floral Damask 679; Holly Panel 487; (Can you tell I love background stamps!?!)
  • Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink: Antique Linen, Peeled Paint and Frayed Burlap; Versamark; Copic markers for coloring the holly; Adirondack Pigment Ink: Snow Cap;
  • Cardstock: Kraft, black, white, light red;
  • Accessories: white embossing powder; foam tape; Spellbinders die; Twinery bakers twine;

The main image on this card is going to be tags for my daughter's teacher's gifts this year!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!

BTW, have you checked out Papercraft 4 Less, yet??  It is the new papercrafting supply site from Rubbernecker!!

You might say this card, rocks!

God Bless Us ALL!

One of the best parts of Christmas for me are Christmas stories.  Books, audio book, and movies... I love all of them.  And one of the best is Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol.

Whether it is read in print, the audio book (I love the version read by Jim Dale) or a video (I am partial to the Muppet version or the Patrick Stewart version).  It is good a good story to hear again and again.  Reminding us that a decision to change can not only change ourselves, but those lives around us.

Here is my Dickens card:
Featuring Tiny Tim from Hambo Stamps.

Inspiration for the layout comes from Freshly Made Sketches #113:
I hope you ..."will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year."

First Love...

Isn't it wonderful to have someone who will listen to our every word and give us all the attention we need?

Sometimes that someone is covered in fur... like a kitten.
This pair is a digital image from "A Day for Daisies" new release and is called "Little Kitty Kiss".

I kept this card pretty simple because I was enjoying the image.  I colored the image with Copic markers, but the sky and grass are stamping ink sponged on.  For the grass I used a mask of the girl's back and feet.  For the sky I used a template created by Bev Rochester.

You will want to see more kittens and beautiful creations by my design teammates:

There's no place like GNOME!

You can just hear Bing singing it, can't you!?!

 Thanks to Hambo's "Wee Henry Gnome" image, the Technique Lovers Challenge at SplitCoast, and Jen's Deconstructed Sketch, I have a punny Christmas card!

The Technique Lovers Challenge (TLC#456) was to build a wreath with punches or dies (not a wreath die, though).

And the Deconstructed Sketch (DS128) is at the left.

And Wee Henry Gnome was sitting on my desk saying "Pick ME!"  (not audibly, mind you)

Thanks for stopping by, today.  I hope you have a pun Christmas!
