Ready for Easter?

Lent has begun, so it is time for me to prepare for Easter!  This means EASTER CARDS!!

Easter Blessings

I was inspired to use Green and Purple by Sharon’s Stamp Simply Challenge (ssnotime126).  I don’t use purple much, so this was an interesting challenge—not necessarily difficult.  I did have to rethink things though.

HE IS RISEN!

Happy Easter!

One of my favorite parts of Easter is going to church, and upon hearing “He is Risen!” to reply “He is Risen, indeed!”

Yeah, the liturgy is old fashioned and to some, corny, but it sincerely brings joy into my heart.

Now, onto the card:

TECC63-He is RISEN

The cross is made from the five flowers of the DoodleFactory Easter Collection.  Yes, once again , I love the flexibility of UNmounted stamps!! I placed all five flowers on one block and stamped at once.  The flowers were colored with Copic markers.

The layout for this card comes from Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #63.

Materials Used:

I tried to keep the embellishments to a minimum  to keep the main image as the focus.

I hope you have a WONDERFUL Easter!!

WACKY WEDNESDAY BUTTON Today, for the Rubbernecker Stamp Company Wacky Wednesday. Broni has challenged us to make cards for kids.  Please check out the Rubbernecker Stamp Company Blog for more information and Broni's sweet example.

ww4-hoppy easter

I made this card with my youngest daughter in mind--hence the PINK!  The "Petite Cottontail's Carrot" stamp is colored with Prismacolor pencils and his tail is fluffed with some Liquid Applique.  I masked him and stamped the "grass set" all around him, filled in with a couple of watercolor brush strokes.

We would love for you to play along in the challenge with us this week! Just upload your Easter card to your blog or favorite online gallery and link it to today's post.  You'll have a chance to win a 25% off coupon for your next purchase!**

Check out what the talented design team members have created today:

**In order to qualify for one of the three certificates for 25% off your entire order at Rubbernecker, you must post a link on THIS post to your creation here on  by Monday, March 30.  Winners will be announced on Tuesday, March 31.  Have fun creating!

He is Risen!

I sincerely hope to get some Easter cards out this year. With it coming so early--we will not be celebrating with any family.

I was very excited when I saw the set Easter Elegance from Verve Visual!! It is just what I wanted for an Easter set!

The layout is from a sketch from Sweet Miss Daisy. It was perfect for the papers I set out last night after I cleaned my desk. The designer papers are from K & Co. The main image is on Pearlized Cream paper I got from Verve.

I stamped the image and the sentiment with Chestnut Roan Fluid Chalk ink by Clearsnap. (it is one of my favorites). Then I simply used my colored pencils to highlight the cross, and inked the edges of the main image with Close to Cocoa Classic ink.

It was such an easy sketch for this set--the card came together cleanly and easily!

Now--the next challenge is to get this puppy in the mail (I really stink at that!!)
