A good book...

In the Swanson family, it is pretty typical to find one or more of us with a nose in a book.  So the Bo Bunny "Learning Curve" papers and the Scooter Kid: Evan stamp were easy sells for me.

Details:

I have a couple of tidbits of news for you, too:

This hop is Saturday, January 21st!  The hop will feature the awesome stamp kits designed by the amazing Kittie Caracciolo!!  Think she is the only one who can make beautiful scenes and cards with these!?!  Let me tell you, if I can do it--you can, too!  AND IT IS FUN!

Hope and Love

Who doesn't need more hope and love??
Ingredients:
Method:
The angel was stamped with waterproof ink, colored with colored pencils, blended with baby oil and blending stumps, and cut out.
The sentiment was stamped on patterned paper; die cut and embossed.  A silver gel pen was used to highlight the sentiment.
A strip of red cardstock was stmped with the Snowflake Pannel stamp, and heat embossed with silver embossing powder.  Then the strip was layered on to brown cardstock.  A scalloped circle was punched out of vellum.
The base of the card is dark brown cardstock layered with teal swirled patterned paper.  The strip of embossed red cardsock was glued down; then all other elements were layered with foam tape.

Did you participate in the Stampin' Sisterhood Challenge, yet?  There is still time!  Click HERE for more information!

 Thank you, as always, for stopping by, today!

Sisterhood Sketch Challenge

Welcome to Sisterhood Sunday!

This week's challenge with the sisterhood is a sketch:

And here is my take on it:

 Materials:
  • Stamp: Santa With Joy Sign SKU:52-01;
  • Ink: StazOn Jet Black
  • Paper: dp by Bo Bunny and Memory Box; Cardstock: Bazzill;
  • Accessories: glitter (Recollections-Michaels); buttons, Prismacolor pencils, foam tape, Spellbinders dies; Chipboard letter stickers by American Crafts;
Description:
The "Santa with Joy Sign" stamp was stamped with waterproof ink on white cardstock.  The image was colored with colored pencils and blended with blending stumps and baby oil.  After die cutting and embossing the image with a circle die, glue and fine clear glitter were applied on the furry parts of Santa's suit.
The image was mounted on a red circle and black scalloped circle.  The base of the card is black cardstock, layered with red cardstock and patterned paper.  To complete the card, the buttons were threaded with paper and mounted; Cardstock stickers were mounted on red strip, and the main image was mounted with foam tape.
Want to play along??   We sure hope you do!

One of my favorite parts of being around little ones is the reading books and nursery rhymes while rocking and snuggling.  "Hey Diddle Diddle" is a classic, with a great rhythm.

This sweet cow from rubbernecker just screamed "moon jumper" to me.

The cow is colored with colored pencils and the moon is covered with Stickles (glitter glue).

  • Stamps: Cow (SKU:569-06) and sentiment both from Rubbernecker Stamp Company;
  • Ink: StazOn Jet Black; Tim Holtz Antique Linen (for edges)
  • Paper: Patterned Paper from K and Company;

An inspired valentine

Today’s card is a Valentine that was inspired by the Tuesday Trigger Challenge

Creamy Fudge Hearts from Martha Stewart

I love the colors and pattern of the paper (lid top?), the sweet little white fudge hearts, and the colors of the ribbon!

I used the scallops from the fluted cups, the pattern and colors of the paper (with the help of a Rubbernecker stamp), the hearts, and the ribbon colors as a jumping off point for my card.Trigger Valentine

The stamped image--under the die cut heart window is from Rubbernecker Stamp Company. I colored it with colored pencils.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Floral Circle SKU:507-02 by Rubbernecker
  • Paper: various cardstocks and dp from My Mind's Eye (red/pink)
  • Ink: StazOn Jet Black
  • Accessories: heart and corner punches, spellbinders dies, colored pencils, home made glimmer mist (perfect pears + water), foam tape

Thanks Moxie Fab World for the fantastic inspiration!

Let’s Get Cozy

I live in Michigan, and for the most part, in Michigan during the winter… it is cold!  Also, for the most part, I don’t mind the cold (but the grey does get to me by mid-January).

When my family comes in from the cold—our noses and cheeks are PINK!  Just like this little girl:

Lets get cozy

I bet she is heading right for the hot cocoa as soon as she gets inside!!!

  • Stamps: Juniper and Jupiter; Classic Decor Sentiments;
  • Paper: My Mind’s Eye and Making Memories;
  • Coloring medium: PrismaColor Pencils;

The layout for this card came from SplitCoast Stampers: SC313

I hope you have a blessed and COZY new year!

Thanks for stopping by my blog to peek!

Simply Noël

Are you ready for Christmas??  Well, if you are, can you come and give me a hand??

I love this image!  I gave her the hair color and freckles to match my oldest daughter (actually, my daughters is more of a red-orange, but I had trouble with getting the pencil colors to look natural).  She wore braids most of her early childhood (kept the tangles out).

Noel elf

This image is by “Juniper and Jupiter” from Starving Artistamps.  You can see all the entire set: HERE.  She is so sweet and she was a joy to color!  I colored her with Prismacolor pencils and she is accented with Stickles and Diamond Glaze.

The other elements from this card come from Anna Griffin and Bo Bunny.

Though I don’t want to stop Christmas from coming (like the Grinch) but if it could just hold off a day so I can catch up…I would be so grateful!  LOL!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Thanksgiving

happy thanksgiving
I am sure, like me, you are somewhere in the throes of preparing for Thanksgiving (if you live in the U.S.).  Though I don’t get to have my family in my home, we are just traveling a short distance to my mom’s house.
This card uses a couple of the newest Rubbernecker images: Floral Circle and Bold Ornament.  I colored the “Floral Circle” with colored pencils.  “Bold Ornament” was stamped as a background stamp on the layered label.
I hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving!!

Playing around…

Sometimes it it is fun to move sentiments from where you would expect them to be used… to where they are NOT expected to be used…
Only Style Remains
She has STYLE!!!

Colorful Place
Do you know someone who dresses like this—even when he isn’t about to paint!?!  I do! (giggle)
All of these images are from Rubbernecker Stamp Company.  I colored the images with colored pencils.  I made the background paper on the “Colorful” card with a background stamp, inking tool, and Tim Holtz Distress ink.
I hope these cards gave you a giggle for today!
