You are lovely

I hope you are experiencing a beautiful Friday!
This is the second week of the newest release from A Day for Daisies!

This image is "Mermaid Vintage Red Lingerie".
She is colored with Copic markers.  The tag is a combination of glitter paper and glitter washi tape that were die cut.  Embellishments of beads, flower and washi tape were added.

There are more amazing projects with beads or pearls on the blogs of my teammates:

I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas!

...only a hippopotamus will do!

For Christmas I like "Hippo Presents" from Hambo!  (much more manageable than a real live hippopotamus!)

This one also uses "Fireplace Stockings":
I hope you have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!

O Christmas Tree...

I have another beautiful Christmas project featuring an "A Day For Daisies" image.
The image is "Vintage Tree Party".  This image reminds me of all the old Christmas movies I love to watch year after year.
There is a new challenge over on the "A Day For Daisies" blog!  It is to use gingham on your project.
I am looking forward to seeing what you create!

Soar...

So I was cleaning up my desk... and that is how this card came to be. *wink*
At least a couple of elements on this card were leftovers from other projects.
Details:

  • Paper: Shipping tag; navy blue and white cardstock; Decorative paper from Graphic 45;
  • Stamps: Floral Flourish#1; Butterflies are Free set; Alphabet Set #2
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; Tim Holtz Distress Inks: faded jeans, broken china, tumbled glass, antique linen, frayed burlap, dusty concord;
  • Accessories: white embossing powder; stickles; Martha Stewart lace punch; ribbon;

I figured it all looked better on a card than in the trash bin.
Thanks for taking the time to look!

Simple Krafty Tags

I was glad for the opportunity for the challenges over at Splitcoast earlier this week!

Holly asked us to try and make simple tags.  Although that may not be a challenge for some, I had to hold myself back from going overboard.  But I loved the chance to use up some scraps that were haunting my work desk.

The colors I used were from this week's color combo challenge: Kraft, White, and Pear Pizzaz;
So here are my tags:

 I made more...but this is a fair representative of the group.  They are all ready to fill out and put on packages.

Method:
To do the trees, I stamped the tree with a pigment ink or inked the stamp FIRST with VersaMark THEN with die ink.  I then heat embossed the image with clear embossing powder for the green trees, and white for the white trees.   I then covered the image with clear fine glitter, and heated the image from underneath (getting the powder to remelt).  Then I dusted off the excess glitter.
Ingredients:
  • Stamps: Christmas Tree Set SKU:592; Scroll Peace SKU:1204 SO ;
  • Ink: Bright/light green-Studio G; White-Adirondack Snow Cap; VersaMark;
  • Paper: Patterned paper-Bo Bunny; white, kraft and lime green cardstock;
  • Accessories: Ribbon, scalloped circle punch, clear and white embossing powder, fine clear glitter, border punch, circle punch;
 Now, I just need to finish shopping and wrap packages!!

Christmas tags

On the 27th, my family will be up at my in-laws for “Christmas Morning”!  Yes, 2 days late, but we will all be to gether for a few days (all 18 of us).
I often like to do something special in the packaging of the gifts, this year my nieces and nephews will have special tags on their gifts…using the DoodleFactory Santa’s Sweet Shoppe stamp set.

The top two are for my nieces and the bottom two are for my nephews.  Most of them are getting arts and craft supplies—as I have been dubbed “Artsy Auntie”!  LOL!
My eleven year old daughter (who has been bitten BIG TIME by the gift giving bug) will write on the backs and wrap the gifts for me.
Now this Santa has to get back to her workshop!
Thanks for stopping by!!!

Wacky Wednesday-Tag It!

This week the Wacky Wednesday hostess is the talented Shelly!!
It was no surprise to us,  Rubbernecker “Red Hot Mamas”, that she challenged us to use tags. (as she makes some of the COOLEST tags I have ever seen).  This is a challenge for you, too!  Check out the Rubbernecker Stamp Company BLOG for all of the details!!
I made a tag to go on a gift using the new Teddy bear inchies that will be released tomorrow.  (the diameter of this tag is approximately 4.25”)

Day Old Gingerbread

I did these before Christmas, and in all of the hubbub of Christmas, I didn't get these posted.  They are from the DoodleFactory Santa's Sweet Shoppe set.  (Click here for a discount code.)

I know you are probably all Christmas-ed out, but it is such a cute set!!! I just couldn't hold back!

Gingerbread house card

On the card, I clear embossed the house (stamped with VersaMark ink on watercolor paper) and watercolored it.

 Gingerbread house tag

The tag has the house embossed in white on brown cardstock.  To get the watercoloring to show up, I used pigment inks--including white on the icing portions.

I promise--no more Christmas for a while!! (notice: I didn't promise not to use Christmas STAMPS--just no Christmas themed projects for a while)Winking
