Mercies Past and Present

By “mercies”, I mean Mercy Kerin of “Lord Have Mercy”.

Here are two cards using Mercy’s Tuesday Sketch Challenge.

The first one is from last week—just could not get “quality” stamping time together to get it done before she posted the new one.

Here is the Sketch:

MTSC40

Spring Birds and Tree

  • Stamps: Into the Woods by DoodleFactory from Starving Artistamps;
  • Ink: Memento-Pear Tart; Fluid Chalk Ink-Dark Brown; SU! Craft Ink-Regal Rose;
  • Paper: dp-3 Bugs in a Rug; Cardstock-Prism;
  • Other Items: plastic flower (American Crafts); felt flower; brad; foam tape; chalks (for coloring);

and here is this weeks sketch (then my card):

MTSC41

  • Stamps: Into the Woods by DoodleFactory from Starving Artistamps;
  • Paper: We R Memory Keepers; Prism; watercolor paper;
  • Ink: VersaMark; Tim Holtz Distress Ink Reinkers for watercoloring;

Yeah, Both are a bit spring-y.  A bit strange considering that Autumn is my favorite season.  But hey, why fight it.

Apple Tree

This card is a double challenge card.  It uses the theme from Stampin’ Sisters in Christ (challenge #5) and the layout from Clean & Simple Stamping (FTL #60).

The SSC challenge was to use Fall colors.  I chose the colors of the apple tree: red, brown and green.  Apples are one of my favorite things about fall—especially apple cider.   I also like the term “apple of my eye” (see Deut 32:10; Ps 17:8; and Pr 7:2)

The Fall-to Layout #60 is:

FTL60

Apple of My Eye

  • Stamps: DoodleFactory Into the Woods and sentiment;
  • Ink: Memento: Pear Tart and Rich Cocoa; SU! Classic: Real Red;
  • Paper: Prism Super Smooth White; SU!: Kraft, Kiwi Kiss and Real Red; Bazzill Green (?);
  • Other items: Judikins Diamond glaze; felt flower; felted brad; paper piercer;

I am truly enjoying these DoodleFactory Into the Woods stamps.  I really like how they can go “fancy” or plain.

Thanks for stopping by here, today!!

(and don’t forget you can get these stamps {as well as other DoodleFactory and Starving Artistamps stamps} for 10% off by using the discount code: savetenJS)

READY!!!

I don't know about anyone else's kids, but my kids are often ready to go Trick or Treating by the first day of October. My youngest has laid out about 5 or 6 different costume options (from our dress-ups collection). She understands the calendar, and knows in her head that it is weeks away...but... Let's just say that she is REALLY looking forward to it.

We live in a small and friendly neighborhood, and I have to say, it is rather fun to go out and chat with all the neighbors.

So my little girl is not the only one ready...so is this little ghost:
  • Stamps: DoodleFactory Costume Party and Plaque Set from Starving Artistamps;
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; Prismacolor and Copic markers;
  • Paper: Cardstock from Prism, Bazzill and SU!;
  • Other Items: Foam Tape; foam arrow; Martha Stewart glitter;
I have a feeling that this little guy will cover some SERIOUS ground on Trick or Treat night!!!
Thanks for stopping by!

Spring, Halloween, and somewhere in between

A couple of you have noticed that I haven’t posted in a while.  The truth is –I haven’t stamped in a while.  This back to school season took me a bit off guard.  Though we were not new to the schools (as we were last year), all of the little details had me a bit overwhelmed.  I think I have found my footing, now…so it is time to get inky!

This first card uses the brand new Halloween sets from the DoodleFactory!

Trick or Treat-cat

For this next one, you might think I am seasonally confused…Yes, I may be, BUT, these papers were laying on my desk, begging to play together—and they are just so SPRING-Y!!

welcome spring 2

Tree-Mendous!!

Have you ever been to Rubber Stamp Chat??

It is a online stamping community, and for the month of September, Starving Artistamps is sponsoring a Sketch Challenge.  Read all about it HERE (and check out Tracey’s WONDERFUL sketch).

Here is my take:

Hope your day is tree-mendous

  • Stamps: Into the Woods by DoodleFactory from Starving Artisamps;
  • Ink: Memento-Tuxedo Black and Rich cocoa; Fluid Chalk Ink-Dark Brown;
  • Paper: DP- 3 Bugs in a Rug (two sided) & Anna Griffin; Prism Cardstock;
  • Other: Buttons, Prismacolor pencils; Copic and Prismacolor markers; Border punch; leaf brads; corner rounder; foam tape;

Once again, I have combined the use of alcohol markers with colored pencils.  I really like how it extends the colors of both items.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, today!!!!
