Tiny Pixie!

Happy Friday!
It is a SUPER happy Friday at my house, as my baby girl turns 11, today!!

Also, A Day for Daisies, has a Showcase: Tiny Ones!
Today I have used Tiny Pixie Leaf:
She is colored with copic markers; the card base is an accident. I was trying one technique with two background stamps... not realizing that I had forgotten to clean one of the stamps. (All's well that ends well)

There is more tiny cuteness on the blogs of my fellow design team members:

Back to school

Happy Friday!
My kids are gearing up for going back to school.

One starts on Monday, the other two start on the day after Labor Day.  I always have mixed emotions about returning to school.  Part of me looks forward to a more disciplined routine but a bigger part is going to miss having them around.  (Though the teenagers were not around that much this summer.)

Today I have a back to school themed card, using "Teacher's Pet" from A Day for Daisies:
(Note: I think this image is on sale this week ;) )
I also used a sketch from Deconstructed Sketches (#164):

Happy Friday!
For today's card I have used the first stanza of an Emily Dickinson poem.  The poem in its entirety is at the end of this blog post.

The image is "Curvy Birds" a digi from A Day For Daisies:
She is colored with Copic markers and the birds are accents with gloss medium from Liquitex.  (the challenge for this week is to use Glossy Accents)

Hope is the thing with feathers

BY EMILY DICKINSON
   Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all,

And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.

I've heard it in the chillest land
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.
