Simple Krafty Tags

I was glad for the opportunity for the challenges over at Splitcoast earlier this week!

Holly asked us to try and make simple tags.  Although that may not be a challenge for some, I had to hold myself back from going overboard.  But I loved the chance to use up some scraps that were haunting my work desk.

The colors I used were from this week's color combo challenge: Kraft, White, and Pear Pizzaz;
So here are my tags:

 I made more...but this is a fair representative of the group.  They are all ready to fill out and put on packages.

Method:
To do the trees, I stamped the tree with a pigment ink or inked the stamp FIRST with VersaMark THEN with die ink.  I then heat embossed the image with clear embossing powder for the green trees, and white for the white trees.   I then covered the image with clear fine glitter, and heated the image from underneath (getting the powder to remelt).  Then I dusted off the excess glitter.
Ingredients:
  • Stamps: Christmas Tree Set SKU:592; Scroll Peace SKU:1204 SO ;
  • Ink: Bright/light green-Studio G; White-Adirondack Snow Cap; VersaMark;
  • Paper: Patterned paper-Bo Bunny; white, kraft and lime green cardstock;
  • Accessories: Ribbon, scalloped circle punch, clear and white embossing powder, fine clear glitter, border punch, circle punch;
 Now, I just need to finish shopping and wrap packages!!

Hope and Love

Who doesn't need more hope and love??
Ingredients:
Method:
The angel was stamped with waterproof ink, colored with colored pencils, blended with baby oil and blending stumps, and cut out.
The sentiment was stamped on patterned paper; die cut and embossed.  A silver gel pen was used to highlight the sentiment.
A strip of red cardstock was stmped with the Snowflake Pannel stamp, and heat embossed with silver embossing powder.  Then the strip was layered on to brown cardstock.  A scalloped circle was punched out of vellum.
The base of the card is dark brown cardstock layered with teal swirled patterned paper.  The strip of embossed red cardsock was glued down; then all other elements were layered with foam tape.

Sisterhood Sketch Challenge

Welcome to Sisterhood Sunday!

This week's challenge with the sisterhood is a sketch:

And here is my take on it:

 Materials:
  • Stamp: Santa With Joy Sign SKU:52-01;
  • Ink: StazOn Jet Black
  • Paper: dp by Bo Bunny and Memory Box; Cardstock: Bazzill;
  • Accessories: glitter (Recollections-Michaels); buttons, Prismacolor pencils, foam tape, Spellbinders dies; Chipboard letter stickers by American Crafts;
Description:
The "Santa with Joy Sign" stamp was stamped with waterproof ink on white cardstock.  The image was colored with colored pencils and blended with blending stumps and baby oil.  After die cutting and embossing the image with a circle die, glue and fine clear glitter were applied on the furry parts of Santa's suit.
The image was mounted on a red circle and black scalloped circle.  The base of the card is black cardstock, layered with red cardstock and patterned paper.  To complete the card, the buttons were threaded with paper and mounted; Cardstock stickers were mounted on red strip, and the main image was mounted with foam tape.
Want to play along??   We sure hope you do!

Materials:
Other details:
The kraft paper was die cut, first.  I stamped the snowman image on the Kraft paper and then on white paper.  On the Kraft paper, I used the snowflake set and the white pigment ink to stamp snowflakes--overlapping some on the stamped image.  The Kraft paper also got white pigment ink on the edges.  I colored the snowman and bird images on the white paper, cut them out, and placed them on the Kraft paper image, popping out some layers with foam tape.

The scalloped square was layered onto patterned paper that I had sanded the edges to reveal white.  The sentiment was stamped on patterned paper, trimmed it, and mounted on the card with foam tape.

Okay, if you are going in order, hop on over to Karen's Blog!
