Happy Mother's Day

While growing up reading was an important part of the day.  Trips to the library were at least as regular as trips to the grocery store.

Since I now work in the library, I thought this image was a good one.  The image is from A Day with Daisies.
I have colored the image with our hair colors from yester-year.  (though I dye my hair, I have more grey hair than she does)

The image is colored with Copic Markers and the embossed base uses an embossing folder from Stampin' Up!

I hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day!
And I appreciate you taking the time to visit my blog!

Chevrons!

Mr. Rubbernecker listened to my plea for "Chevrons"!

I love this new background called "Horizontal Chevrons".

I stamped it on white cardstock with Versamark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  I sponged from the top and bottom with ink to create a fade.

The girl ("Fern") was stamped with memento ink and colored with Copic Markers. Her sunglasses have a touch of glossy accents.

Ballet and Lace

Rubbernecker Stamps came out with some new ballet themed stamps.  While I don't dance... someone who I love does. (Hi, daughter from another mother ;) ) So they needed to  come to my house to play.

One of my favorite parts of the ballet, is the costumes!  Satin, Lace and Tulle!  All of which were the inspiration for this card.

Details:

  • Stamps: Ballet Dancer, Lace Netting, Lace Square, Lace Border Set, and Flora Damask background stamps all from Rubbernecker Stamps;
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; Adirondack shell pink and salmon die ink pads; Versamark;
  • Paper: Bazzill cardstock; Bristol Smooth paper;
  • Accessories: White embossing powder; Copic Markers, Stickles glitter glue; ribbon; hole punch; EK Success border punch; foam tape;
To bring out the lace detail the lace border and square stamps were stamped with Versamark on white cardstock, heat embossed with white embossing powder, then sponged with shell pink and salmon ink. To sponge ink use the Inkssentials blending tool and sponge.
