Squirrely Hello

I have received my “Into the Woods” DoodleFactory Stamps and had to get them inky a.s.a.p.!!!!

To get me started I have combined a couple of challenges:

  1. Sharon’s Stamp Simply #102 to step out of your comfort zone. I did this by using THREE patterned papers, and about double the embellishments and layers I normally do.

Wacky Wednesday #26-BLING!

WACKYWEDNESDAYLADIES

Yes! It is Wacky Wednesday and it is time to add some BLING to our projects! Our Rubbernecker Red Hot Mama hostess is Candy and she has challenged us to use some bling this week—pearls, jewels, glitter—ANYTHING that shines!

PLEASE check out the Rubbernecker Blog for all of the details and how you can be this week’s winner!

Here is my card:

WW26--Flower w Bling

Details:

  • Stamps: Abstract Floral Background and Chrysanthemum from Rubbernecker Stamps;
  • Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink-Vintage Photo;
  • Paper: Kraft, Dark Pink (Prism) and Green Galore cardstock;
  • Other: Green Pearls-Kaiser; Glitter, glue; Perfect Pearls-Pearl; May Arts Ribbon (Sheer Iridescent--Fuchsia-Green); Colored Pencils;

The green panel is stamped with the distress ink and immediately swiped with the Perfect Pearls. The wetness of the Distress Ink is enough to activate the binding agent in the Perfect Pearls so they stay on without adhesive. The result is a dark brown pearly pattern.

WW26--Flower w Bling-detailThe flower is colored with colored pencils (and blended with baby oil); then accented with fine glitter.

Though only the Fuscia in the ribbon shows in the photo—there is some green in it that coordinates wonderfully with the greens in the card.

I sure hope you can play along! Don’t forget to post a link to your project on the Rubbernecker Stamps Blog! I am looking forward to see what you create!!

Coffee time

I have been MIA for a bit.  As the summer activities wind down, and school has not yet started, my kids seem to need more of my attention –especially if I go down to my studio!

I am embarrassed to say how long these cards took to make, AND how little they look like my original intent.  But they are completed!!

Card #2:

Thanks a Latte

Both cards were stamped using the Impression Obsession stamps, and colored using colored pencils.

Who knows what tomorrow will bring??

Thanks for stopping by today!
