The background was a happy accident! I had been truly inspired by my friend, Tammy Hershberger! She has been making some uber-cool backgrounds and posting them on Instagram. I thought the technique would be perfect for this sweet mermaid. I made a couple... they turned out nice. There was a little but of ink/water left on my acetate sheet, I smooshed it on a piece of white cardstock to keep it from making a mess in my studio (please note the name of the blog -- I am NOT a tidy person). I LOVED what happened!
Happy Accident!
The mermaid was colored with Copic Markers. The hearts and tail were coated with Liquidtex Gloss Medium.
