Criss Cross Challenge Crazy

This weeks "Technique Lovers Challenge" (a.k.a. tlc-104) was to create "criss cross cards." You will find the directions (by the talented Michelle Wooderson) in a link at the challenge. They are fairly easy and go pretty quick---and, if I do say so myself, pretty darn cute!

Here is the first one I have did (and it is posted in my SplitCoast Gallery):

I enjoyed using some paper that I had bought last spring and had not used a great deal. (Confession: I have a weakness for large packs of coordinating patterned scrapbook papers. They say the first step is to admit the problem.) They were some travel themed papers from Wal-Mart. I paired this with my new Colorbox Fluid Chalk inks (Dark brown, warm brown, Moss green, and Roan Brown) a little Mello Moss, Ivory Natural, and Close to Cocoa SU! cardstock. Then I added some accents from the Balmy Breezes, Circle of Friendship (to imitate a postmark or passport stamp) , All Year Cheer I, and Everyday Flexible Phrases stamp sets. I also couldn't pass up an opportunity to use my new file tab punch!!

I am fairly happy with the result!

Then came:

The dotted patterned paper is from American Crafts and the stripes is from ProvoCraft. The ribbon and the flower are impulse buys from Wal-Mart (hey, it is the only store in town). The flower had a bead in the center, but I cut that out and stuck the button on. The sentiment is from the "Riveting" hostess set, and uses three circle punches to make that little accent on the bashful blue pull out card. Very Girly!

And finally this one:

Again, using the travel themed paper and the chalk inks. This time using the "Loads of Love" and "Loads of Love Accessories" stamp sets.

These last two were not posted at SplitCoast since I didn't think they sparked any better ideas than what had already been posted for this challenge. So if you want to see more, click here.

Thanks for looking!! Don't be afraid to leave a comment--I approve the comment before they are posted since I was spammed early on in my blogging.

Happy Stamping!
