Java Minute?

Anyone who knows me at all, knows I love coffee, and I love stamping.  So it stands to reason that I love coffee themed stamps.  I also like puns.

So these stamps are very ME!  They are by KK Originals at Rubbernecker Stamp Company.

I also like the retro feel of the cup and the scalloped paper. It reminded me of a 1930's era kitchen.  So I added the buttons and the bias tape (reminds me of one of my grandma's aprons).  I wish I remembered the name of the manufacturer of the scalloped paper (if you know--please share).

I stamped the cup and the sentiment with Fluid Chalk Ink by Clearsnap.  It works GREAT with colored pencils (and watercolors, too) and gives a nice matte finish to the image.  These are some of my favorite inks to use.  They stamp great on non-porous surfaces, cloth, as well as on paper--and, hey, they are on sale, too at Rubbernecker.

Watercolored Twins

Yesterday I had some cards to get done to send out to some friends AND I was in the mood to watercolor.  Impression Obsession to the RESCUE!

First for the Color Challenge at SplitCoastStampers:

CC181--Crafty black coffee

Then--using blue and flowers (for a friend's birthday):

Billie Birthday

I forgot how much I love to watercolor (I know I have said that before).  In my studio in my new house, I am not near a source of water, so I often opt for other coloring choices.  I would LOVE to take a watercoloring class someday--but it isn't going to happen this year.

Happy Halloween

Today, this branch is spooky--come back closer to Christmas--it will be decked with snow--in spring it will have flowers.

TLC183 halloween branch

But today, it is home to a fat glittery spider.

The branch was stamped using the faux dry embossing technique.  Do I think it looks like it has been dry embossed??  No, I think I would need to try different ink/paper color combos to make that work.  BUT, I do think the effect is rather cool!!

The branch was stamped with Frayed Burlap (Tim Holtz Distress Ink) and then with a white pigment ink.  The webs were stamped with Old Paper (THDI).  The spider was stamped with the Frayed Burlap, colored with pencils, and then outlined with a glitter gel pen.

The ribbon was frayed/melted with my heat tool.

My hope, was a lighthearted spooky.

WANT CANDY!!!!

I just love this DoodleFactory image.  It just CRACKS me up!

IC142-WANT CANDY

Do you remember being bundled in a costume--barely being able to move--and trying to get around the neighborhood??  Well, this little "Trick or Treater" has had ENOUGH!  Just hand over the candy!  He and the candies are colored with Prismacolor and Copic Markers.

The patterned paper is only black and white, but I colored some of the dots with my Prismacolor and Copic markers.
