Lilac Shower

My future sister-in-law's wedding shower is this Saturday. Here is the card that will accompany the gift. (click on image to enlarge it)

I used the Featured Stamper Challenge as a launching pad since I had NOT A CLUE of where to start for a shower card. It has been YEARS since I have been to a wedding shower. (and I have not been to many since I have never lived near friends that were getting married). This week's featured Stamper is Kendra Giles. It is funny because I just found her blog last week and have subscribed to it. There are many wonderful cards in her gallery to choose from, but here is the card I have decided to CASE (copy and share everything). Here is the card on her blog with a little more info.

My changes:
--I do not have any embossing folders for my "Big Shot" so I embossed white on white with the floral stamp.

--Instead of Happy Harmony for the sentiment and main image, I used Blossoms Abound and Fancy Flexible Phrases.

--I do not have any scalloped punches either, so after trying decorative scissors a few times-I decided on the ticket punched corners instead.

--I chose not to use white card since cardstock often warps when it is heat embossed and it looked quite unattractive mounted on white.

--I also added the lavender organdy ribbon (I also used this on the bride's invitations) I tried just the black grosgrain and just the organdy, to me, the combination looked the best and most appropriate for the occasion.

Supplies (all Stampin' Up!):
Stamp sets: Fancy Flexible Phrases, Blossoms Abound, Floral Background

Paper: Whisper White, Almost Amethyst

Ink: StazOn Jet Black, Almost Amethyst, Lavender Lace

Accessories: Ticket Corner Punch, Black Grosgrain Ribbon, Lavender Wide Organdy (ret.)

Thank you for stopping by!

Very nice card! I don't have that set, but love all the cards I've seen with it. It's so soft and pretty.

OK...this is funny, when I went to add your blog to my blogroll, I had the window minimized, and so I just looked at the address and thought it said "stampin winky fingers" and I thought, :0) that's a funny name, but OK" so I typed that in my links, but then I came back to your blog and saw your blog title again and realized how I misread your address, :0) Funny, I know!!
