Wacky Wednesday #7—An Inspiring Challenge

Today, I am hosting the Wacky Wednesday Challenge at the Rubbernecker Stamp Company BLOG.

Here are two views of the inspiration piece:

and here is my take on the piece:

WW7-Inspiration Girl Thing

I was inspired by the colors, the mottled look, and the squares. Also the “x”’s seemed to have a metallic sheen.

The three images were stamped with Dusty Concord ink and quickly embossed with clear embossing powder. The mottled gold spots were made with a solution of Perfect Pearls and water splattered on the images.

The abstract floral background is stamped on the pink with VersaMark and dusted with Perfect Pearls.

The brads were painted with a gold Adirondack Paint Dabber and the jewels were glued on.

The sentiment was clear embossed, dusted with Perfect Pearls and then reheated to “absorb” the powder.

Materials:

Stamps: Fashion Icons Set 455 and Abstract Floral Background-- from Rubbernecker;

Ink: VersaMark; Tim Holtz Distress ink: Faded Jeans, Dusty Concord, Broken China, Pine Needles;

Paper: Prism: Baby Pink Dark; Baby Blue Dark; and Classic Blue; watercolor paper;

Accessories: Adirondack Paint Dabber-gold; Perfect Pearls-gold; embossing powder-clear; Spellbinder’s die; brads; jewels; MAY ARTS RIBBON available by the yard Apr. 21 at Rubbernecker;

This is a precious card, Jules. I lopve that you used the three squares for the images as they are such a pick up of the squares from the inspiration piece. I love the little gold detail, too!
